We all love fortune cookies, right? Well, Senator Chap Petersen proved that to be true when he pulled out a fortune cookie in the middle of the Senate Session, Thursday. The populist gentleman was in queue when he read the words of his fortune. “Answer just what your heart prompts you, says the fortune; and now, I want to talk a little bit about the budget and what my heart prompts me”, said Sen. Chap Petersen (D-Fairfax)

According to the Economic Policy Institute, teachers in Virginia earn 67 cents on the dollar compared to other (non-teacher) college-educated workers. Virginia’s teacher wage penalty is the worst in the nation.
